Nepal logs 293 new cases, 263 recoveries and two deaths on Thursday

KATHMANDU, Dec 23: Nepal recorded 293 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday along with 263 recoveries and two deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

KATHMANDU, Dec 23: Nepal recorded 293 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday along with 263 recoveries and two deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).



As many as 11,626 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 241 PCR and 52 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 5,279 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 4,910 are in home isolation, 251 in institutional isolation, 96 in ICUs and 22 on ventilators. Similarly, 95 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,581 people have died from the virus across the country.


Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 148 cases of the virus on Thursday. Of them, 101 were recorded in Kathmandu, 13 in Bhaktapur, and 34 in Lalitpur districts.
