Nepal records 2,239 new cases, 1,316 recoveries and 20 deaths on Friday

Kathmandu Valley alone has added 280 new COVID-19 patients on Friday. These include 261 in Kathmandu, 74 in Lalitpur and 45 new cases in Bhaktapur.

KATHMANDU, July 8: Nepal recorded 2,239 new cases, 1,316 recoveries and 20 deaths due to COVID-19 on Friday.



According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 6,657 PCR tests and 4,656 antigen tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Of them, 2,239 tests turned out to be positive for COVID-19. With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 case tally has surged to 652,859 including 616,929 recoveries and 9,340 deaths.

Kathmandu Valley alone has added 280 new COVID-19 patients on Friday. These include 261 in Kathmandu, 74 in Lalitpur and 45 new cases in Bhaktapur. Currently, there are a total 7802 active cases of COVID-19 in three districts in Kathmandu Valley.


According to the MoHP, there are currently 23,920 COVID-19 patients in home isolation, 2,670 in institutional isolation, 539 in ICUs and 166 on ventilators.
