Nepal women blind cricket team announced

KATHMANDU, Nov 4: A 15-member Nepal national women’s blind cricket team has been announced on Saturday for the upcoming International Blind Women’s Cricket Tournament to be held in Pakistan.

KATHMANDU, Nov 4: A 15-member Nepal national women’s blind cricket team has been announced on Saturday for the upcoming International Blind Women’s Cricket Tournament to be held in Pakistan.  



The selection committee led by the senior coach Arun Aryal, Sunoj Bhattarai, blind cricket umpires Nahendra Niraula and Geeta Regmi selected the 15-member team.

The Nepali team was formed by a selection process which ran from October 30 to Saturday, read the statement issued by the Cricket Association of the Blind (CAB) Nepal. The team consists of Aasha Regmi, Reeta Thapa, Hita Gurung, Muna Aryal, Sushma Tamang, Sarita Ghimire, Aayushma Chhetri, Bhagwati Amgai, Mankeshari Chaudhary, Bimala Rai, Meena Chhetri, Aashika Chaudhary, Binita Pun, Bhagwati Bhattarai and Geeta Paudel for the tournament which will run from January 26 to February 4 next year.


The association also added that players were selected from all the seven provinces for the national team. Nepal, which is the first to form a national team of women’s blind cricket, is going to participate for second time in an international tournament. Nepal had beaten England in international women’s blind cricket held in Nepal in 2014.
