KOHALPUT (Banke), Dec 27: The inmates of Nepalgunj prison on Monday received blankets to fend off the cold of the peak winter season.

Nepalgunj's local residents and businessmen distributed 200 blankets to the prisoners, Prison Management Department, Banke's Jailer, Tirtha Raj Yadav said. The prison is currently housing more inmates than its capacity.

The inmates are facing a host of problems due to over population including lack of space to sleep. The prison with a capacity to hold 300 prisoners currently has 600 inmates including 51 women and a juvenile. RSS
