Nepali rafting team off to Japan

KATHMANDU, Sept 21: Nepali rafting team has left for Japan to participate in the first World Rafting Championship to be held from October 2 through 9 in Yoshino River, Shikoku.

KATHMANDU, Sept 21: Nepali rafting team has left for Japan to participate in the first World Rafting Championship to be held from October 2 through 9 in Yoshino River, Shikoku. 



Himalayan River Guide Association bid farewell to the Nepali team amidst a ceremony in the capital on Wednesday.

Nepal Kayak Club, which won the National Rafting Championship last year, will participate in the tournament representing Nepal. 


Captain Hari Ale Magar, Roshan Lama, Prakash Gurung, Man Bahadur Kadel, Binod Gurung, Tak Bahadur Gurung, and Bishal Gurung, along with coach Bishnu Gurung, are representing the Nepali side. 


The team will be coordinated by Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies, Nepal Rafting and Canoeing Association, and Nepal Kayak and Canoe Club. 


Nepal will take part in the men’s open category that comprises of 23 teams from 80 countries.
