Nepali wrestler Jureli defeats American wrestler

KATHMANDU, Dec 6: Nepali wrestler Asmita Jureli has defeated an American wrestler in the single fight of the International Wrestling Championship.

KATHMANDU, Dec 6: Nepali wrestler Asmita Jureli has defeated an American wrestler in the single fight of the International Wrestling Championship.



In the single fight, which was the main event of the competition, Jureli defeated Jesse Storm of USA in a very competitive bout. After winning the competition in the presence of spectators at Bhrikuti Mandap, Jureli was congratulated by the supporters offering her Dhaka hat.


Similarly, in the two-vs-one fight of the competition organized by Nepal Women's Wrestling Foundation, Nepali Bro and Sneha Thapa of Nepal defeated Kobu Brandon of Pakistan. In the men's singles fight, Jordan Hor of Pakistan defeated Thagu of Nepal.


Although Jordan was scheduled to play with an Indian wrestler, he had clashed against Nepali wrestler after the Indian wrestler did not show up. Sapna Tamang won the single fight against Jamuna Tamang. Likewise, in the men's single fight, Kobu Brandon of Pakistan defeated Nepali Bro of Nepal.

In the one-day wrestling event, Mayor of Suryabinayak Municipality Basudev Thapa, Wrestler Bharat Bahadur Bishural (Himalayan Tiger), President of the Foundation Bhagwati Khadka and others distributed belts and prizes to the winners. Wrestlers from Nepal, USA and Pakistan had participated in the event.
