Nepse falls over 14 points on week’s first trading day

KATHMANDU, March 20: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) fell 14.67 points on Sunday amid low confidence among the investors to inject more money in the purchase of shares.

KATHMANDU, March 20: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) fell 14.67 points on Sunday amid low confidence among the investors to inject more money in the purchase of shares.



The secondary market that opened at 2,631.25 points rose to 2,644.23 points within a few minutes of the starting of the trading for the day. The market fell successively in the intraday trading finally closing at Rs 2,616.58 points.

With the fall in the overall index, the sensitive index that measures the performance of  ‘A’ class companies also slid 3.01 points. Similarly, the turnover amount also fell to as low as Rs 2.27 billion.


Except for investment, the remaining 12 trading groups witnessed a drop in their indices. Life-insurance lost the highest of 197.09 points.


Among individual companies, Nepal Life Insurance Company had the maximum transaction of its shares worth Rs 162.94 million. Rastriya Beema Company Limited Promoter Share was the top loser while Rashtra Utthan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha gained the highest point percent in the market value of its shares.
