NEPSE loses 14.46 points; daily turnover falls to Rs 3.86 billion

KATHMANDU, Feb 15: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday declined by 14.46 points to close at 2,062.03 points.  



The market opened at 2,076.50 points and declined by around 11 points in the first half an hour of trading. The market however reached the day’s high at 2,076.95 points in the next one and a half hours. The market then fell to as low as 2,056.39 points in the last 15 minutes. In the remaining period, the market recovered around six points.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies declined 3.71 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 3.86 billion from Rs 4.25 billion on Wednesday.


Only the manufacturing and processing group was the gainer. Of the 12 losers, non-life insurance shed the highest of 79.62 points.


Among individual companies, 79 were recorded as gainers whereas 163 were the losers.


Himalayan Reinsurance Limited with a transaction of its shares worth Rs 228.57 million continued to lead the segment. Mailung Khola Jal Vidhyut Company Limited lost 5.70 percent of its market value and was recorded as the top loser, while Bottlers Nepal (Balaju) Limited gained the highest percent of its market price.
