NHRC chair accuses govt of not being serious towards resolving transitional justice process

KATHMANDU, Nov 24: Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission Anup Raj Sharma on Sunday accused the government of not being serious towards resolving the much-delayed transitional justice process.

KATHMANDU, Nov 24: Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission Anup Raj Sharma on Sunday accused the government of not being serious towards resolving the much-delayed transitional justice process.



"Not a single war-era case relating to human rights violation period was addressed by the successive governments after the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement 13 years ago," Sharma said addressing a program in the capital.

The head of the human rights body said that the government has done nothing to end impunity in the country. He said the transitional justice mechanisms have become dysfunctional due to lack of required laws.
