Adequate research has already been conducted on dengue, says NHRC

KATHMANDU, Sept 16: Nepal Health Research Council (NHRC) under the Ministry of Health has clarified that it has already carried out adequate research on dengue.

KATHMANDU, Sept 16: Nepal Health Research Council (NHRC) under the Ministry of Health has clarified that it has already carried out adequate research on dengue.



The NHRC's statement comes at a time when the government is under fire for not being able to control Dengue outbreak and conduct enough research for the same.

The NHRC stated that it has been minutely doing a research about the pandemic disease. 


"We are studying about causes of dengue attack in detail," NHRC Chairperson Dr Anjani Kumar Jha said on Monday and brushed aside allegations that no research has been done by the government in this connection so far. 


Council also declared that an awareness program would be soon launched in a bid to control the widespread disease. According to official figures, six persons died while around 8000 people infected due to dengue across the country this year.
