NIBL signs pact with PADT to rebuild 'Mahasnan Ghar'

KATHMANDU, July 4 : Nepal Investment Bank Ltd (NIBL) have signed an agreement with Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) under 'People's Involvement and Development Program', agreeing to maintain Mahasnan Ghar (The Great Bathhouse) and develop it as 'Pashupati Museum'.

KATHMANDU, July 4 : Nepal Investment Bank Ltd (NIBL) have signed an agreement with Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) under 'People's Involvement and Development Program', agreeing to maintain Mahasnan Ghar (The Great Bathhouse) and develop it as 'Pashupati Museum'.



Mahasnan Ghar, located in the Pashupati area, was built by King Rana Bahadur Shah in 1856 BS in the name of his most beloved Queen Kantiwati.



NIBL CEO Jyoti Prakash Pandey and PADT Member Secretary Govinda Tandan signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions on Sunday.



The southern and western sides of Mahasnan Ghar were damaged in the earthquake of April 25 and May 12, 2015. According to the agreement, the reconstruction of the Mahasnan Ghar will be accomplished within a year and the development of the museum will take three years, a statement issued by the bank stated.



"NIBL will provide financial assistance of Rs 10 million annually over three years," the said, adding that the bank has been actively involved in resurrection and reconstruction of Pashupati area.
