NICCI Vice President KC appointed as IPPAN adviser

KATHMANDU, June 20: Sunil KC, the vice-president of the Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI), has been appointed as an advisor to the Independent Power Producers Association of Nepal (IPPAN).

KATHMANDU, June 20: Sunil KC, the vice-president of the Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI), has been appointed as an advisor to the Independent Power Producers Association of Nepal (IPPAN).



KC's appointment as an advisor to IPPAN was announced by the newly elected Working Committee, led by Ganesh Karki, during the 21st Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Thursday.

In addition to his role at NICCI, KC is the founder of the Asian Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs (AIDIA). Since 2015, he has contributed to various newspapers and media outlets, discussing topics such as Nepal's diplomacy, foreign investment, trilateral trade, energy trade between Nepal-India and Bangladesh, and the overall economic development of Nepal.


Through his articles published in the media, KC has provided valuable insights into the field of energy development and advocated for relevant policies.


IPPAN expressed confidence in the collaborative efforts between the Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry and IPPAN, foreseeing fruitful outcomes in attracting foreign investment, particularly from India, to Nepal's hydropower sector and its projects, which are considered reliable and promising.


During Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal's recent visit to India, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi pledged to purchase 10,000 megawatts of electricity from Nepal, highlighting the potential for further cooperation in the energy sector.
