KATHMANDU, Feb 12: The Nepal Medical Association (NMA) halts the entire health care services except the emergency ones across the country today to protest against police assault against a medical doctor on Friday.

The NMA has decided to suspend all the health care services that are carried out from the government, non-government, private and other health institutions, hospitals, medical colleges and academies. However, emergency services will not be disrupted, reads a statement issued by NMA.

While President Bidya Devi Bhandari was returning after addressing the Federal Parliament, a policeman deployed for the security of the presidential escort, had beaten up Dr Jenith Singh, who works at the Trauma Center.
