NRB to establish separate regulatory body for cooperatives

KATHMANDU, July 23: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) will facilitate the establishment of a separate regulatory body to regulate cooperatives as announced by the government in the budget for the current fiscal year 2023/24. This decision has been made public by the NRB through the new monetary policy today.

KATHMANDU, July 23: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) will facilitate the establishment of a separate regulatory body to regulate cooperatives as announced by the government in the budget for the current fiscal year 2023/24. This decision has been made public by the NRB through the new monetary policy today.



Now, a separate specialized regulatory body will be established for the effective regulation and supervision of savings and credit cooperatives.

The government has prepared to establish such a body to regulate misconduct in the cooperative sector.


In the monetary policy, the NRB has also announced the implementation of essential monetary policy easing measures.
