KATHMANDU, April 28: National Sports Council (NSC) on Friday has welcomed the International Cricket Council (ICC)'s decision to release the withheld salaries to the Nepali national cricket players.

Issuing a press statement NSC Member Secretary Keshav Kumar Bista's Press Advisor Rohit Dahal said that ICC's decision has given a message to Nepali cricket, which is in a state of confusion, the situation is heading toward a direction where the problem will be solved soon.

“We have been saying that the ICC is positive toward lifting the suspension of Nepal's membership and we were not saying that for sake of publicity. We had written to the ICC many times requesting it to lift the suspension and release the salaries of the players. NSC obviously has a role in the ICC decision but other stake holders also played important roles,” read a press statement released by Dahal. He also said that NSC is soon organizing Prime Minister Cricket Tournament and added that the sport governing body is also committed to developing cricketing infrastructure. Dahal also has expressed hope that the ICC will work toward ending the suspension of Nepal's membership.
