NSJF supports its member for Everest expedition

KATHMANDU, April 16: Nepal Sports Journalist Forum (NSJF) has extended best wishes to sports journalist Priya Laxmi Karki for the successful ascent of Mount Everest.

KATHMANDU, April 16: Nepal Sports Journalist Forum (NSJF) has extended best wishes to sports journalist Priya Laxmi Karki for the successful ascent of Mount Everest.  



Organizing a press meet in the capital on Sunday, NSJF congratulated its member Karki and handed over the flags of the forum, AIPS, AIPS Asia and cash. Karki is climbing Everest on the third week of May. 


In the program, NSJF President Mahesh Acharya wished her for the successful ascent of Everest. Acharya handed over Rs 100,000 cash collected from the members of the forum as well as other sports associations, sports officials, among others to Karki.

NSJF First Vice-president Durga Nath Subedi handed over the AIPS flag, while Vice-president Sanjeev Shilpakar provided the flag of AIPS to Karki. 


Also, the President of Nepal Photo Journalist Club Bikash Karki, the forum’s Vice-president Shreelochan Rajopadhyay and the General Secretary Prakash Timalsina also wished for her success. 


Karki said that the overwhelming support and encouragement she has received from all her well wishers has given her inspiration for climbing Everest. 


During the same program, Ruslan Three Star Club, National Sports Council’s Employees’ Association and Nepal Archery Association’s President Deepak Gurung handed over Rs 10,000 each, while the President of Nepal Boxing Association Ram Awale handed over Rs 6,000. 


Likewise, the Vice-president of Nepal Olympic Committee Lama Tendi Sherpa and Archery Association’s General Secretary helped Karki with Rs 5,000 each.


With the slogan of ‘Unified voice in favor of equity’, the team comprising of Karki, Rastriya Samachar Samiti’s Rosha Basnet, Megha Television’s Kalpana Maharjan, Nepal Television’s Rojita Buddhacharya and freelancer Deurali Chamling are climbing Everest this season.
