KATHMANDU, Jan 19: The Nepal Workers and Peasants' Party (NWPP) has demanded that it be granted the status of the main opposition party in the House of Representatives, the lower house of the Federal Parliament, as per the existing laws.

The parties that support the incumbent government cannot be the main opposition parties, said the party’s lawmaker Prem Suwal while speaking in the House of Representatives on Thursday. “So, our party should be given the status of the main opposition party,” he said.
