Of 12,516 COVID-19 tests conducted on Sunday, 1,920 turn out to be positive

KATHMANDU, August 22: Nepal recorded 1,920 cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, alongwith 2,284 recoveries and 24 deaths, according to the latest information released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

KATHMANDU, August 22: Nepal recorded 1,920 cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, alongwith 2,284 recoveries and 24 deaths, according to the latest information released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP). 



As many as 12,516 tests were conducted on Sunday. Of them 1,702 PCR tests and 218 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 35,555 people undergoing treatment in home isolation, 3,196 in institutional isolation, 681 in ICU’s, 421 in quarantine and 139 on ventilators. 


Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 566 cases of COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 395 were recorded in Kathmandu, 110 in Lalitpur and 61 in Bhaktapur districts.
