The Oli-led government has now lost its majority with the Maoist Center withdrawing its support. Prime Minister Oli has already announced to seek a vote of confidence in parliament on May 10 even as the Maoist Center was yet to withdraw its support to the government.

The Maoist Center has a total of 49 lawmakers including House Speaker Agni Sapkota. Since the ruling CPN-UML has a total 121 lawmakers, Prime Minister Oli is short of a minimum 15 lawmakers to save his government.
