The District Administration Office, issuing a notice on Wednesday, stated, “During the extended prohibitory period, all the offices except those providing essential services will be closed starting May 13,” the notice read. The DAO has asked offices that are open to run their services with minimum manpower.

The general public will not be allowed to go out except to purchase medicine, food, and other essential consumer goods or services.

A meeting of the chief district officers (CDOs) of the three districts- Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur - decided to extend the orders for another 15 days.

The restriction orders in the Valley that were first enforced on April 29 for a week, were earlier extended by one more week. The ongoing orders expire on May 27.
