Nepal’s own Pasangtemba Sherpa reached the summit as well. Both climbers set off on this undertaking in association with Imagine Nepal Treks and Expeditions. According to him, many climbers have reached the Hillary Step while some are around South Col. He added that by tonight, many climbers will likely reach the summit.

The spring-time scaling of Mt Everest has begun since Sunday. The door to climbing has been opened by the rope fixing done by skillful workers (icefall doctors). Imagine Nepal Trek and Expedition Company has informed Republica that it has been entrusted with the responsibility of building the path from the second camp of Mt Everest following the first formal ascent of the mountain after rope fixing this season.

At this time, hundreds of climbers wait around Everest’s base and second camps. According to the tourism department, 44 groups with 467 climbers in total have taken permission to climb Mt Everest this spring.
