KATHMANDU, August 3: Paras Khadka, a Nepali cricketer has retired from international cricket. He made the announcement via his social media on Tuesday.
“With utmost clarity, respect and gratitude, I have now decided to retire myself from playing international cricket,” he said in a statement he made public on Twitter.

Khadka started his cricket career as a young 15 year old, back in 2002. Stating that playing for Nepal has been his biggest achievement, he said he will always be indebted towards his coaches, players, fans, stakeholders, friends and family for their continuous support over the last 18 years.
Why now? He answered, because it’s about time. “As a cricketer I have given my heart, blood and soul and have always dreamt to achieve better for my country.”
He wished to see a better cricketing system in Nepal. “I have spent all my energy in the last two decades and to improve it will require equal support from everyone in the cricketing community and beyond.”
He added, “The journey on a cricket field as an international cricketer ends here but the cricket dreams for my country have just started.”
Khadka is Nepal’s longest-serving and most successful former national cricket team captain. He, who had started captaining the national side in 2009 and resigned from his position in 2019, was the longest-serving overall international captain.
