NAWALPARASI, Jan 30: Nepali Congress General Secretary, Dr Shashank Koirala, said the parties do not have any option but to reach a consensus on implementing the constitution.

Speaking at a program held on the occasion of Martyrs' Day on Sunday by Nepali Congress Gaindakot Town Committee here, Koirala expressed concern that the country was still unable to move forward on path of implementing the constitution.

He stressed on need for consensus among all the parties before seeking an outlet from the present crisis.

Koirala underlined unity among three major parties as today's necessity for constitution implementation as they had united when promulgating the constitution. He said the main opposition party – CPN (UML) – should be taken onboard the constitution implementation process.

Koirala, who is a lawmaker from Nawalparasi constituency – 1, said the country would find a solution only after treading the path shown by the martyrs. RSS
