People celebrate Kukur Tihar at Maitighar (With photos)

KATHMANDU, Nov 3: People gathered to celebrate `Kukur Tihar´ at Maitighar in Kathmandu. Dogs were offered garlands and ‘tika’, which are put on them by their humans on this day.

KATHMANDU, Nov 3: People gathered to celebrate `Kukur Tihar´ at Maitighar in Kathmandu. Dogs were offered garlands and ‘tika’, which are put on them by their humans on this day.



Dog, which is an animal known for being the trustworthy sentry as well as a faithful companion of humans since ancient times, is worshipped once a year on this day. People worship the dog, garland it and offer delicious food today.
