KATHMANDU, Feb 13: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that People's War Day is now the property of the nation.

Addressing the program organized on the occasion of People's War Day at the Party Central Office on Monday, Dahal said that the major movement that brought change and its leadership justified the People's War Day and, considering the historical necessity, the government has given a public holiday on the occasion of People's War Day across the country.

Dahal said, “There is no choice but for the major movement to bring about this change and its leadership to proceed with determination to justify it. The decision to provide holiday was made yesterday by the Council of Ministers on behalf of the Government of Nepal, considering the historical necessity. Now it is not only the property of the Maoists, it has become the property of the nation of Nepal.”

PM Dahal mentioned that he has taken the leadership of the government this time as a challenging opportunity and mentioned that there is no room for failure. He also said that there is no alternative to leap in the field of social justice, good governance and economic development.

Similarly, he claimed that there has been a theoretical agreement with the forces of the communist and socialist movement to form a socialist front and said that another process of party unity will be started soon.

“We have started the process of uniting the movement for some time. I have also discussed with many groups, I believe that another process of party unity will come forward soon. It will not only encourage the general Maoist leaders and workers but also the common people,” Dahal said. “A theoretical agreement has been reached with the forces of the communist and socialist movement to form a socialist front. I believe that a socialist front will soon form the leadership of tomorrow in Nepal.”
