KATHMANDU, Sept 15: Various Barbers’ unions in Kathmandu organized a march at Jawalakhel on Tuesday afternoon against the measures adopted by the government of Nepal to curb the further spread of COVID-19.

The government of Nepal has eased the lockdown in the Kathmandu Valley to some extent. The marketplaces have been allowed to open on specific days. However, the barbers’ shops and salons have not been permitted to operate so far.

The participants of the march were representatives from Nepal Barber Trade Union, Nepal Barbers Association and All Nepal National Barbers Association.

The barber unions and associations have demanded that their shops and salons be allowed to resume their services across the nation along with government relief, reduction in bank loan interest and rents and life insurance.
