KATHMANDU, Aug 4: Acting Chief Justice Deepak Raj Joshee has dubbed the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee’s decision as an act of injustice to him.

Issuing a press release on Saturday, Joshee said that PHSC’s unilateral decision has done him a great injustice as the committee faulted his academic certificates without investigating them in a proper manner.

“I have been greatly concerned about the abrupt decision the PHSC took based on the misleading news about me by the media.”

A meeting of the PHSC held on Friday had rejected Joshee as chief justice.

The PHSC has misjudged my SLC certificate I had received by passing the exam conducted by the then Department of Examination under the Ministry of Education representing Rastriya Bidyapith on May 12, 1973.

“The unilateral decision formed about my SLC certificate without following proper procedures has not only humiliated me but also the entire SLC Board, and those scholars passed through this Board,” stated Joshee, claiming that the symbol number of admission card matches that of the SLC certificate’s and the same number was published in  Gorkhapatra.

Joshee has taken this decision as an act of blatant intervention in the Judiciary by the Executive.

A meeting of the PHSC held in Singha Durbar on Friday rejected Joshee’s nomination to the post of Chief Justice.
