Following the Janata Samajwadi Party-Nepal's exit from the government and withdrawal of the support earlier extended to the government on May 13, PM Dahal sought a vote of confidence for the fourth time. The constitution mandates that a vote of confidence must be taken within 30 days after a coalition partner withdraws its support to the government.

PM Dahal took the vote of confidence from the HoR as per Article 100 (2) of the Constitution.

This is the fourth time that Dahal, who became the Prime Minister on December 25, 2022, has taken a vote of confidence.

Earlier, PM Dahal sought a vote of confidence for the third time on March 13, 2024, after the Nepali Congress (NC) withdrew its support. At that time, he had the support of 157 MPs.

He received the vote of confidence for the second time on March 20, 2023, and for the first time on January 10, 2023.

In addition to that, the next HoR meeting is scheduled for Tuesday at 11AM.
