PM Dahal casts vote at 7 am in Chitwan (Update)

CHITWAN, May 14: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal cast his vote at 7 am at the polling center located at Laxmi Secondary School, Lanku, which is part of Ward-4 of Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

CHITWAN, May 14: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal cast his vote at 7 am at the polling center located at Laxmi Secondary School, Lanku, which is part of Ward-4 of Bharatpur Metropolitan City.



Dahal and other members of his family arrived in Bharatpur at noon on Saturday.


Dahal  cast his vote at 7 am, Deepak Thapa, Superintendent of Police at District Police Office, Chitwan told Republica Online.

Renu Dahal, a daughter of PM Dahal, has fielded her candidacy for the mayoral post from Bharatpur Metropolitan City on behalf of CPN(Maoist Center).


Nepali Congress(NC) has agreed to help her after an electoral alliance was forged between NC and CPN(Maoist Center).


There are seven local units in Chitwan district. The total number of voters registered with the Election Commission is 3,13,000. Of 3, 13,000 voters, 1, 52,000 are from Bharatpur Metropolitan City, according to District Election Commission, Chitwan.


Voters had started queuing up for casting their votes despite slight rain.


 There are 161 polling stations and 376 polling centers in Chitwan.
