PM Dahal to participate in energy summit in UAE

KATHMANDU, Jan 5: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is paying a four-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to participate in the World Future Energy Summit in the third week of January.

KATHMANDU, Jan 5: Prime Minsiter Pushpa Kamal Dahal is paying a four-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to participate in the World Future Energy Summit in the third week of January.



“Preparations are underway for the Prime Minister to participate in the energy summit at Abu Dhabi, UAE,” a source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “If the political impasse ends within a few days, the Prime Minister will leave for Abu Dhabi on January 14.”

While in Abu Dhabi for the summit, Dahal is preparing to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts during his visit to UAE. Foreign Affairs advisor to the Prime Minister, Rishi Adhikari said that the ministry is doing necessary homework for the visit.   


According to sources, the Prime Minister will attend the two-day summit during his 4-day stay in the UAE. Representatives from more than 150 countries will be participating in the summit.   


The summit will have discussions on renewable energy and clean technologies from January 16 to 18.


Last year, 32,000 representatives from 170 countries participated in the summit.
