KATHMANDU, April 30: Prime Minister and the CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal defended the impeachment motion against Chief Justice Sushila Karki in the meeting of the party headquarters.
"CM said that the impeachment motion is a right move and the party is forced to register it as the judiciary encroached into the jurisdictions of the Executive. He also told the meeting that the move is taken to maintain the independence of judiciary," said Pampha Bhusal, the spokesperson of the party.
UML Central Committee meeting starting from today
According to a member of the party headquarters, Dahal presented his point of view but he left the meeting to meet CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli when members of the headquarters had just started discussion over the impeachment motion.
Political consultations, inter-party and intra-party discussions are going on to discuss the latest political development after 249 lawmakers from Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Center) registered impeachment motion against Chief Justice Sushila Karki in the parliament amidst of election programs.
