KATHMANDU, May 7: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has appealed to all to light lamps today evening on the occasion of the 2564th Buddha Jayanti or the birth anniversary of Siddhartha Gautam, the apostle of world peace.

The prime minister has urged all Nepalis to take part in the illumination at 7:00 pm this evening, said the PM's press advisor Surya Thapa.
The prime minister's request to light lamps is also in respect of the doctors, medical personnel, security personnel and volunteers in the frontline of the fight against COVID-19 pandemic, wishing for the speedy recovery of those infected and for the eternal peace of those who lost their lives to the virus across the globe.
