KATHMANDU, July 25: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli congratulated newly-elected British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Thursday.
"I would like to congratulate @BorisJonson on your election as the PM of the United Kingdom and your assumption of the high office. I extend my best wishes for your successful tenure as well as for the continued peace, progress and prosperity of the people of the UK," Oli tweeted.

Oli said that he is looking forward to working closely with Johnson in further cementing bilateral ties between the two countries.
Johnson, the Brexiteer who promised to lead Britain out of the European Union with or without a deal by the end of October, replaced Theresa May after winning the leadership of the Conservative Party two days ago.
