KATHMANDU, June 2: The Nepal Police and Armed Police Force (APF) have formed teams of divers to effectively respond to disasters during the monsoon season this year. Nineteen APF divers and one Nepal Police (NP) personnel have successfully completed their diving training.
The APF divers underwent comprehensive training for approximately five weeks in various water bodies, including the Trishuli River, Koshi River, and Phewa Lake, as stated by Rajendra Khadka, the central spokesperson for the APF. In total, twenty APF personnel participated in the training program, contributing to a current total of 74 trained divers within the APF.
Number of rescue divers reaches 110 in Nepal
Khadka further mentioned that the APF divers have already made a significant impact, rescuing 802 individuals from 273 incidents and recovering 317 deceased bodies.
