Police deployed across Doti to assess damage after heavy wind

DOTI, April 21: A school was one of the many buildings affected by an unexpected weather and heavy wind. The wind swept roofs of more than a dozen homes and damaged crops in Doti.



"Last night, the wind damaged more than a dozen houses of Ward 6, 7, including ward office of Ward 6," Harka Bahadur Bista, secretary of ward 7 said, KI Singh rural municipality. "Documents and records stored in the ward office have been destroyed while the Latakalarai Basic School of ward 7 is without roof," he added.

Apart from completely damaging the Ladagada Police Station, three other police posts in the two wards sustained minor damage, according to the District Police Office, Doti.


A fire induced by wind gutted cattle-shed and three goats of Birbhan Bohara of Badikedar rural municipality- 2, DPO, Doti said.


"It has been reported that the entire district suffered from the wind. We are collecting damage losses and have deployed our personnel to assess damage," according to Shiva Bahadur Singh, deputy superintendent of police.
