SANKHUWASABHA, March 22: Two police personnel were suspended over alleged involvement in smuggling of endangered Pangolin’s hard shell.
Working at Syaklisla, Bhotkhola Rural municipality, they were taken under custody on 11 February. The two police were caught red handed for taking bribe of Rs 100,000 each from one of the smugglers at Bhotkhola-4.

“The police acted on a tip off that the two were involved in taking bribe and smuggling,” DSP Santosh Khadka said adding that police found proof of cash in a search.
The two police personnel were deployed to assess fire. On their way back, they met smugglers who lured the police for Rs. 100,000 each.
“We’ve suspended them from the duty and are investigating the case,” Khadka said adding that the police would always act tough on those engaged in criminal activities.
