RANJHA, Jan 22: Police have started tightening the noose to control illegal activities along Nepal-India border areas in Banke district. 



Police in Banke collected over Rs 40 million in revenue in the last six months of the current fiscal year, 2021/22, in fines for tax evasion and tax avoidance and for illegal activities along the transits.

Police had collected Rs 27,534,738 in revenue under the same topic during the same period last fiscal year.


SP Shyam Krishna Adhikari shared that police collected Rs 43,626,000 in revenue so far this fiscal year.


A total of seven personnel were arrested during this period for their involvement in smuggling poultry related goods including chicks. 


Also, two gold smugglers were nabbed and 17 vehicle thieves were arrested in the first six months of the current fiscal year, informed SP Adhikari. Police also nabbed gamblers, timber smugglers among others.
