Two days ago, the Sher Bahadur Deuba led government had named Rupandehi as temporary provincial capital of the province.
Nepali Congress and the Left Alliance have taken leadership of the ongoing protests to press the government to reverse its decision on provincial capital. Political parties have formed a struggle committee to tighten the protests and shut the district for 24 hours.
