Poudel elected Itahari Mayor

ITAHARI, May 22: Nepali Congress candidate Hemkarna Poudel has been elected the mayor of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City. He won the election to the post with 33,049 votes, beating his closest rival Yam Kumar Chongbang Subba of the CPN-UML, who got 28,031 votes.

ITAHARI, May 22: Nepali Congress candidate Hemkarna Poudel has been elected the mayor of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City. He won the election to the post with 33,049 votes, beating his closest rival Yam Kumar Chongbang Subba of the CPN-UML, who got 28,031 votes.



Similarly, UML candidate Sangita Kumari Chaudhary has been elected the deputy mayor with 32,436 votes. Her nearest rival was CPN (Unified Socialist) candidate Keshav Kumar Bista, who received 18,031 votes, according to the Office of the Returning Officer.
