Prashanna Bhandari won the ‘Mantra Guitar Competition 2019’

Prashanna Bhandari won the ‘Mantra Guitar Competition 2019’ which was held in Shisha Lounge & Bar, Thamel on Saturday. Bhandari won the competition by defeating eight competitors and received Rs 26,000 worth Mantra Moksha Guitar.

Likewise, Sanjeep Pariayar and Saran Newar became the first runner-up and second runner-up who won Mantra N-21 Ukulele and Mantra accessories package respectively.

A panel of three judges, including Manoj KC (Guitarist of 1974 AD), Hari Kuwar (Guitarist) and Deepak Moktan (Guitarist) evaluated the finalists. The judges marked the contestants based on their tone quality, musicianship, and technique.   


           


Jointly organized by Mantra Guitar and Guitar Shop, the main aim of the competition is to support Nepali artists to come up and provide them a platform to showcase their musical talent to the world.


According to the Founder of Mantra Guitar Anup Sharma, three winners of three consecutive weeks were selected for final via online which was started on October 21, 2019. “We started the competition as a weekly based competition which was divided into 3 weeks and a final event. Every week we picked three winners who competed in the final event. We received over 50 entries,” Sharma said.
