KATHMANDU, May 25: Preliminary hearings on the writ petitions filed against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) at the Supreme Court have been scheduled for May 27 and May 28.
Hearings on 19 writ petitions will be conducted by the general bench at the apex court on Thursday and the remaining others on Friday.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari dissolved the HoR and announced midterm elections for November 12 and November 19 at the recommendation of Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli. Following the government’s move, the opposition parties filed writ petitions demanding reinstatement of HoR and appointment of Sher Bahadur Deuba as the PM.
