KATHMANDU, Sept 9: On the occasion of Haritalika Teej 2021, President Bidya Devi Bhandari has urged one and all to avoid extravagance and expensive Teej to preserve its originality and preserve its cultural significance. 



Extending her congratulatory message on the occasion of the festival today, President Bhandari said that the festival will help to unite society and the nation. She has wished to inspire all to build a civilized and progressive society by ending all forms of discrimination and inequality against women in society. She has also asked people to celebrate the festival by maintaining the public health protocols.

The festival, which usually falls in the month of Bhadra according to the lunar calendar, is a four-day celebration where women fast and offer prayers to Lord Shiva wishing for a prosperous and healthy life of their spouses.
