President on her way to Colombo

BANGKOK, May 13: President Bidya Devi Bhandari is on her way to Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, after she departed from Bangkok, Thailand this morning.

BANGKOK, May 13: President Bidya Devi Bhandari is on her way to Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, after she departed from Bangkok, Thailand this morning. 



The President is on an official visit at the invitation of Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena. 



President Bhandari will attend the United Nations Vesak Day – 2017 Conference – being held to mark Buddha Jayanti – as the Chief Guest. The Conference, which commenced yesterday in Colombo, will conclude on May 14 in Kandy. 



During her visit, President Bhandari will hold bilateral talks with her Sri Lankan counterpart Sirisena as well as with the members of the top political brass. 



The President will pay homage to the Lord Buddha's astral relics in form of a tooth in Kandy and visit various religious shrines. 



President Bhandari was seen off by Nepali Ambassador to Thailand, Khaga Nath Adhikari, at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok. RSS
