KAILALI, Sept 30: The member of the probe committee formed to investigate Nirmala rape and murder case, Birendra KC has been attacked by an unidentified group.
KC, who reached Kailali on Sunday itself, was en route to Dhangadi in a vehicle ( Ba 1 Jha) of the law ministry of Province 7 when two people riding on a motorcycle pelted stone on the vehicle at Beradadi and hit KC on his head. It has been reported KC sustained a minor injury on his head and taking rest at his home.

Two policemen and one legal officer were traveling along with KC. They are said to be unharmed. Local administration has started investigating the incident.
KC, a joint secretary in the government, had tendered his resignation from the probe committee stating that he received a death threat. However, in a dramatic move, he withdrew his resignation from the probe, stating he had received assurances from the home minister, the home secretary and the police chief of support for independent investigations.
