Protest rally demanding immediate action against Gauchan's killers

KATHMANDU, Oct 11: The Federation of Contractors' Association of Nepal (FCAN) has today organised protest rally, demanding action against the guilty in the murder of its chairperson, Sharad Kumar Gauchan.

KATHMANDU, Oct 11: The Federation of Contractors' Association of Nepal (FCAN) has today organised protest rally, demanding action against the guilty in the murder of its chairperson, Sharad Kumar Gauchan. 



Gauchan was shot dead by an unidentified group at Kharibot of New Baneshwor on Monday. 

Former chairpersons of FCAN, its office-bearers, members and relatives of Gauchan organised protest rally from Maitighar to New Baneshwor. Participants in the rally demanded that Gauchan be declared a martyr and immediate action taken against the guilty along with guarantee of physical security of contractors.

The FCAN has in this regard already met Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Home Minister Janardan Sharma, Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, Kedarnath Sharma, and chiefs of security bodies and put forth their concerns, including demands. 


FCAN General Secretary Ram Sharan Deuja urged the government for the security of contractors, who he said are receiving threat calls from unknown callers since the murder of Gauchan. Meanwhile, the FCAN and family members of Gauchan said that they would not receive Gauchan's body until the guilty are arrested.
