MORANG, Aug 26: The Ministry of Social Development of the Province 1 has said that 108 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in the province in the past 24 hours while 81 persons were discharged after full recovery in the same period.
Of the newly infected, 48 are from Morang, 24 from Sunsari, 16 from Jhapa, 8 from Tehrathum, 4 from Panchthar, one each from Udayapur and Khotang, and six others are from outside the province.

Biratnagar Metropolitan City alone has reported 43 new cases of coronavirus. With this, the COVID-19 tally in Province 1 has risen to 2, 940, according to the ministry.
With 81 COVID-19 patients being discharged after full recovery on Wednesday, the coronavirus recovery tally in the province has climbed to 1,385.
On Wednesday, 357 persons underwent PCR tests for COVID-19 in the province. Authorities conducted 82,102 PCR tests in the province as of today, the ministry stated.
