PAC recommends legal action against NOC Managing Director Khadka

KATHMANDU, August 4: The meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) under the legislature-parliament held today in the capital  city has  made a decision to recommend legal action against the Managing Director of the state-owned  Nepal Oil Corporation(NOC) for his alleged involvement in corruption .

KATHMANDU, August 4: The meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) under the legislature-parliament held today in the capital  city has  made a decision to recommend legal action against the Managing Director of the state-owned  Nepal Oil Corporation(NOC) for his alleged involvement in corruption.



At the meeting chaired by Dor Prasad Upadhaya, the PAC concluded that the NOC chief Gopal Khadka was involved in corruption amounting to around 670 million while purchasing the land to be used for setting up NOC oil storage facilities in Bhairahawa, Chitwan, Jhapa and Sarlahi.

The PAC meeting has concluded that the NOC purchased land violating the Land Acquisition Act 2034. This act requires that the land that the NOC buys for expanding its services be public. It has also reached the conclusion that the cheap land was purchased at an inflated price.


At the meeting chaired by Dor Prasad Upadhaya, the PAC concluded that the NOC chief Gopal Khadka was involved in corruption amounting to around 670 million while purchasing the land to be used for setting up NOC oil storage facilities in Bhairahawa, Chitwan, Jhapa and Sarlahi.


Khadka has also been accused of taking millions while recruiting employees and granting permission for new gas industries, extending their branches,  and  for new petrol pumps, tankers and gas bullets.
