Rain-triggered natural blockade grips Dolpa

DOLPA (Dunai), July 22: The Jufal Airport – which has been a major medium of transportation in far-flung Dolpa district–, has closed down for the past five days with the onset of rainy season.

DOLPA (Dunai), July 22: The Jufal Airport – which has been a major medium of transportation in far-flung Dolpa district–, has closed down for the past five days with the onset of rainy season.



Likewise, mountain mules which are only reliable means to transport daily essential goods are also not regular due to road obstruction with the start of the season.

It has created a situation of natural blockade in Dolpa. Local businesspersons said the supply of daily essential goods to the district has been halted after the closure of Jufal Airport and transportation service of mountain mules due to unfavorable weather.


It has created shortage of daily consumptive foodstuffs such as ride, cooking oil, salt and sugar and taking advantage of the situation the traders have also hiked the price of goods in a voluntary manner. RSS
