MORANG, June 29: Morang's Rangeli-Biratnagar and Rangeli-Kanepokhari road sections have been blocked owing to floods. Since Monday night, many parts of Morang have been swamped by heavy rains.

Rangeli Municipality-2 route is closed due to the flood in the Rangeli-Biratnagar Postal Highway culvert at Mangalbare. When the canal's culvert was flooded, the link was severed, and traffic was disrupted. Every day, hundreds of vehicles use that road.

Smaller cars, however, have been redirected. The road is closed owing to the non-completion of the Deuriariver  bridge on the Rangeli-Kanepokhari road stretch. This road connects to the main highway. Both exit roads from Rangeli have been inundated, causing considerable complications.

The District Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) has stated that work is underway to relocate the flood victims in different areas of Morang to safer places including various schools and community buildings in coordination with the local bodies.
