Reviving economy is govt's first priority: PM Dahal

KATHMANDU, Dec 27:   Newly-appointed Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that revival of the economy is the first priority for the government. He said that a special decision has been taken in this regard from the first meeting of the Council of Ministers.

KATHMANDU, Dec 27:   Newly-appointed Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that revival of the economy is the first priority for the government. He said that a special decision has been taken in this regard from the first meeting of the Council of Ministers.



In a meeting with the official delegation of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) held this morning, PM Dahal also said that he would respect the interests and concerns of the private sector regarding the sensitive state of the economy.

"The federation is on a campaign to save the economy, you have arrived early in the morning for this meeting, and are worried about the economy. You  have  asked us to address  the problem. The government will  take it seriously," a statement issued by the FNCCI quoted Prime Minister Dahal as saying.” 


According to the FNCCI, the meeting held at the Prime Minister's private residence, Khumaltar, discussed the revival of the country's economy. FNCCI President Shekhar Golchha congratulated and wished the newly appointed Prime Minister on behalf of the entire private sector and apprised him about the current state of the economy.


Prime Minister Dahal expressed his belief that he will take initiatives to solve the problem soon by including the Ministry of Finance, the Nepal Rastra Bank and the private sector as he is studying the suggestions given earlier by the federation.
